I had some free time on day 3 since we had grill night. Friends of my 22-year old cousin also went to the grill. I’ve never felt and looked so young. LOL
The day after, Day 4, my other Aunt and her family brought me to Schloss Hallwayl which is a moated castle located in Seengen municipality in the kanton of Aargau.
The drive from Zürich to Aargau was probably an hour long.
Schloss Hallwyl has been turned into a museum and highlights the history of the Hallwyl family.
The Hallwyl family belonged to the minor nobility of Aargau and excelled in many ways during its 800-year history – on the battlefields of the Swiss Confederation and at the courts of Europe as well as in science, politics, trade and finance. —Schloss Hallwayl, Museum Aargau
So, inside the museum:
They have interactive displays such as this hammer used for molding weapons. I teased my uncle if they already had protective goggles before. XD;
Garments (if someone can tell me who usually wears that in the first photo?):
Please correct me if I’m wrong — From what I heard, hearings of those accused are very seldom. I think twice a year? Most often, these accused already die before their judgement. Eventually, they changed the hearings to bi-weekly.
In between wings, there would be tents with different exhibits.
On to the next part of the castle.
We were done a little past lunch time. The cafe doesn’t have lunch choices except snacks to which I had a carrot cake and carbonated apple juice, since it would be another hour drive before we can get lunch.
Our stopover for lunch was at Marché Restaurant with a nearby Burger King. I thought we would be eating at the latter. LOL
In Marché, you select your food and will be freshly prepared in front of you. They have pastas, soups, salads, grilled meat, and a variety of drinks. The restaurant also has free hourly WiFi (in case someone touring would need to know). You only need to provide a mobile number to receive a password for access.
I had cauliflower, zucchini, and grilled lamb. Oh gawd, the grilled lamb… *drools* Of course I had to try an Arizona drink that I don’t see locally.
That concludes the morning trip and the highlight of day 4. 🙂 Oh, just a couple more pictures… Of our pizza dinner. Hihi~ I had a whole pepperoni pizza.
