Review: Ole Henriksen Truth Banana Bright Eye Creme

I get second thoughts purchasing eye creams because I usually get texture or bumps under my eyes after some time of use, so I do a lot of contemplating and researching first.  I gave Ole Henriksen Truth Banana Bright Eye Creme a shot because, to be honest, my favorite beauty influencer with similar skin type uses it. 🙂 Also, my skin is “friends” with Vitamin C, so I had expectations it will not eff up on me. I also ran out of eye cream, which is actually a surprise since I always have a backup or two. 😛

The Ole Henriksen Truth Banana Bright Eye Creme brightens, reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and hydrates.

OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright eye cream brightens and instantly targets fine lines and wrinkles, delivering age-defying results. Collagen-boosted, it firms and deeply hydrates even as it feels deliciously lightweight making this your go to vitamin c eye cream that promises to help revive and illuminate the entire eye area over time.

Inspired by the makeup artist must-have—“banana powder”—this sunny yellow brightening eye cream contains special pigments to instantly brighten and color-correct the eye area. But that’s not all: It creates a smooth, well-rested canvas and is proven to improve concealer wear.

The eye cream has a thin consistency with a slight radiant finish that is not tacky nor feels oily. It works for all skin types (even sensitive), but I can imagine those with dry skin under their eyes enjoying this. A full-size jar is 15ml. There is a smaller variant at 7ml available in Ole Henriksen sets.

The first time I used the eye cream I, apparently, used too much. My eye makeup and concealer under my eyes became a mess. I guess I should have waited more for it to totally dry down, but who has time for skincare to set in the mornings? LOL! Now, I just lightly tap a small amount under my eyes—the darkest area—and then around the eyes with what’s left on my finger. I go on slowly with few of the cream at a time if I think I need more.

In just a few days use, I already like this eye cream. 🙂 It is the most hydrating I have used so far. Makeup rarely settles or crease under my eyes. Even those drying concealers go on great

In less than a month, I noticed that the fine lines, particularly on the inner part of my eyes, are almost unnoticeable. I still have dark circles, but not as bad as it was before.

This is like my cheat to look like I got a full 8-hour sleep. 🙂 I’m tempted to get a backup or have another to keep in my other room, but that’s just wasteful. I mean, this 15ml could last until two of my birthdays. 😛

The Ole Henriksen Truth Banana Bright Eye Creme is available to purchase from the Ole Henriksen official website and Sephora US (where I got mine). It retails for USD38. For those in the country (Philippines), other options are online sellers or those who do pasabuys. ?
