Co-worker and I went to Glorietta last Friday to check the CNY Food Festival, but we happened to first see and pass by the main activity center where the PhotoWorld Asia 2014 was held. So we checked that first; not realizing we only saw the major exhibitors. Besides, we took some time at Camerahaus’s booth because of their Pentax Q cameras promo. I knew my Dad was interested in the Q10. The different colors of the Q7 and Q10 had my co-worker looking too. Shortly, we had to leave the event because we didn’t have the heart to look around when you haven’t received your salary since last month. I also thought there weren’t much to see. But I was wrong when my brother mentioned about the good deal of the camera strap he bought and the tripod he might buy to replace his broken cheapo one. I visited the event again, only with my brother, on family duty Sunday.
I was able to touch and feel the huge Canon lenses that I couldn’t get near to on my first visit. See picture to know why:
I have proof, but my brother has yet to send the pictures he took of me. We did a good look around to search as well for a handstrap for my La Sardina. We saw the new Lowepro bags and an on-going talk about, I think, a photography app. Oh, there were models too.
Several young girls and old ladies (like granny old) were lining up at the same time with the men to take pictures with the models. Seeing the grannies delighted to have pictures with them were kind of weird and funny. Anyway, here are some of the models. I had their attention too because they seemed impressed with Marco’s Actionsampler Flash. (Thank you, Marco!)
PhotoWorld Asia is held yearly and has been held at Glorietta until recently. It is an opportune time to get good deals on cameras, photography accessories, and gears. Some exhibitors would hold small talks. Films used to be sold, but this year most only had Instax films. If you missed out this year, then start saving up for the next one which won’t be until next year… I guess. 😛
