HAPPY NEW YEAR! + 2016 goals

I know this is a week due, but I couldn’t get myself to blog when I have been itching to fix the other layout ‘Physical.’ I think I managed to. You can check it by clicking on the ‘Physical’ link listed under themes in the sidebar. πŸ™‚

It’s another year; another start for new goals. It’s only last year that I ditched resolutions and made goals instead. I never shared those goals though, but for this year I will. πŸ™‚

Start film photography again.
I forgot when I last used my film cameras. I really should use them again, but I have to find where I can have films processed and scanned to CD at the cheapest cost. There are about 15 used films that need to be processed too. Also, this time, I hope I can upload them all right away and not after n years.

Read 10 books.
I think I have the same goal as last year’s. Sadly, I finished only about three books. Though I did read a lot of self-improvement online articles.

Practice and get better in sketchnoting
I came across Sketchnotes by Mike Rohde in, I think, National Bookstore. It’s with so much regret that I didn’t get the book. After I looked online on what sketchnotes are about and how it could be used, I tried it for note-taking in meetings and it the meetings more bearable. LOL! I need to learn how else I could apply it like for my journal or commonplace book.

Journal daily.
Honestly, I’m already failing this. But I write in my other journals daily such as in my commonplace book (where I’ve written my goals) and my Starbucks Weekly Moleskine. I guess they count?

Limit to buying 6 makeup products
Last year, even though I told myself not to buy new makeup until I use up about 20% of my ‘stocks,’ I still ended up buying a lot especially from drugstore brands. Those bargain sales were difficult to resist. This year I will do my best to resist temptation. If you’re a follower of Glam Love, the beauty blog with Joiz, then you might see reviews of old and probably discontinued items. ^^;;;

Enroll in Japanese classes and take JLPT
Still waiting for the schedule. πŸ™‚ I need to start mustering the courage to take the JLPT. Either I take it by middle or end of the year.

Daily crunches.
I’ve done only one day so far. LOL?

I have bought several books on doodling. I must use them.

Learn lettering
Same as above, I also have a few books on lettering. Some of them are still in their original plastic wrapping.

Care less of what other people think/assume of me
There’s one person now who I have problems with because of their personality — Quick to judge and assume and pretends to care. It causes me huge stress actually. But I’m going to do my best not to let the negativity get to me. I need to figure out how to care less of the person though. Of course, this doesn’t only apply to that person, but to anyone. Caring of other people’s opinion on me and my actions will only be stressful. I’m quick to acknowledge if I do wrong. Whoever has an issue with me for shallow reasons and would treat me inappropriately, would be ignored. If possible, would be out of my life.

Remove toxic people in my life
One of the things I learned back in 2014, was to remove people in my life who weren’t good for me. The people I removed since then included those who prefer to be in their comfort zones. They wanted improvement in their life, but never worked for it. I removed those who talked big on love and lectured me, but never had a good relationship. There were those who are too full of themselves. Those who feed their egos or like their egos to be fed. Removing toxic people in your life is good for the mind, heart, and spirit.

Daily gratitude
This should be part of my daily journal. πŸ™‚ The Gratitude Mondays would be a weekly summary.

Be kinder
It pays to be kind. πŸ˜‰

Be mindful
Mindfulness is good for mental and physical health and is the way to being truly happy.

I won’t share how much my minimum monthly saving should be. πŸ˜› I do need to save up for my future. and other gadgets I want to buy. LOLOL

Those are the goals listed for now. I don’t have too many because I’d like to be realistic and make them attainable. XD; Also, this is a WIP. Goals will be added, if I come up with more, since it’s still the start of the year.
