Daily, Quizzes: New CPU and guns (Comments Off)

Your Gluttony Quotient: 50%
You definitely have your gluttonous moments. For you, eating is a true hobby.
And while you do spend a lot on food, you can always make it back winning eating contests.

How Much Gluttony Do You Have?

^___________^ I’m so happy! I finally have a new CPU. The motherboard in my old CPU broke down on me. It started with my keyboard’s PS/2 connection really fucking up. Then my hd was suddenly taken over by a virus. When I had an anti-virus installed, it only made things worse. Reformatting didn’t even help at all. I installed Windows XP, but it looked like Windows98. There were so many missing files that I couldn’t do anything other than just stare at the wallpaper. Then my video card went kaput too… *sighs* I gave up and just used the Gateway laptop we bought in Michigan. My dad wasn’t too happy with my leaving it sometimes on overnight. So we decided to buy a new motherboard, processor, and memory. I had to bug spoz about those because I had no idea what brand/s to buy with what features. Then I canvassed last Sunday around Park Square. But, in the end, we just bought a new CPU. *lol* It came with speakers, keyboard, and a mouse. I told the saleslady if we could get the flatscreen instead of those, but they wouldn’t let us. XD This came from those package deals anyway, but the flatscreen is supposed to be bought separately. If we bought the package, the CPU will come with a 15″ old-school Samsung pc monitor. XD; We didn’t need a new monitor and we didn’t want to spend too much. The keyboard I gave to my brother because I bought a new notebook-style keyboard when I thought the PS/2 connection of my old CPU was broken (well, on the day I bought a new keyboard, my old keyboard suddenly worked). The speakers ended up with my brother too. He’s got 6 speakers now (2 being large Bose speakers that are connected to an amplifier *shakes head*). I only got the mouse which I think I’m going to sell because it’s the wheel-mouse. I don’t know if that’s the right name for it.

I’ve installed most of what I need so far. All that’s left are Adobe Photoshop and MS Office. Yeah, I don’t have the latter yet. It wasn’t pre-installed and no cd came with the CPU, so I’m going to buy a CD soon or I won’t get to do any assignments with this thing.

Damn, my monitor keeps flickering. >_<

Last week, most of my professors were absent. *lol* Our professor in Water and Sewer was absent for the 4 meetings (2 for Water and 2 for Sewer) and professor in Water Treatment was absent for the whole week. ^^ Only in Hydrology, Hygiene, and Waste Water Treatment did we have classes, but it felt like just hanging out for a short time in school. Hygiene and Waste Water Treatment are both just once a week. It wasn’t a stressful week then. But for this week, we suddenly got assignments and a long quiz to review for, so it will be a semi-stressful week. ^_^; We don’t have classes today though (luckily, it’s on the day where I’m supposed to be in school from 12NN to 9PM) due to the end of Ramadan. ^^

*bah* Just when there are so many things going on with my life now, I could hardly blog about them. Hmm, let’s see if I can still recall some of them…
Around last month, my family and I heard 2 gunshots just in front of our house. It crossed my mind that they were gunshots, but I just brushed the thought off and told myself it could be something else. Then I heard people suddenly running and some shouting, “May baril, may baril!” (Trans: There’s a gun, there’s a gun!”) I don’t know if I should peek out. I was so curious, but my body told me not to… Just for safety reasons. My brother wanted to look out too, but my dad stopped him. After a few minutes of silence from the street, we decided to look out. It seems the gunner managed to escape the barangay security or the tanod. *sighs* That happened around 12:30AM to 1AM. Good thing Mac went home early or I would worry like shit. Then sometime last week, I was on my way home from school. A woman was sniffing rugby from a plastic. I got scared because those sort of people have the tendency to just suddenly do harm. >_> I walked real fast, but I noticed she was following me. I doubled my pace and she was still behind me. She also doubled her pace. I almost ran, but I realized she was suddenly gone. I didn’t look back anymore. I didn’t want to see her. Then last night, there was a huge traffic along Taft near Buendia. Our lane went to the other lane (against the flow) because there were cars blocking the road. When we passed by that area, there was a car with gunshots on the driver’s window. Mac said there were also gunshots on the police car. Scary… I’m glad it didn’t happen when we were there. You wouldn’t know if there were any stray bullets. XP

Sucks when you have night classes and you’re far from home.

Anyway, will post again later because Mac’s coming over. ^^

Site Related: Movable Type 3.3 (Comments Off)

I just upgraded my MT to version 3.3 There aren’t much change with the interface, but I like how you can expand the textbox. ^^ I’ve also started to use widgets. I was confused at first on how to use them. I should explore more about widgets later.

Oh, I finally fixed the mood themes. I changed some coding with the macros. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get it to work.

Yeah…

Well, I’m off to school. *waves*

Daily, Movies: Ssunday Seoul! (Comments Off)

I thought I’d update the crappy english I did with my review of Ssunday Seoul. There’s just a missing sentence from this.

Based on HKFilms.com, it’s not Sunday Seoul, but Ssunday Seoul. Bah, I can’t rename the file anymore because it’s already burned. Anyways, this was based on the Sunday Soul tabloid. Subbers or probably the company who released the DVD probably thought the double “s” is a mistake. They might have also thought that if they named it Ssunday Seoul, watchers/audience might think it was their mistake. *shrugs* The first 2 stories was good. I liked the horror theme of the second story. They’re all weird though. The movie lacks a lot. They should have put a bit more point in the movie. Connecting stories are one. Connecting just characters aren’t enough. It could have been made better without all the dumb trying-hard jokes. The third story is trying so hard to be comedic that it actually annoyed me and Mac. Harhar~ My rating for Ssunday Seoul is 3 of 5. I’m just being fair for the 2 stories I liked. XD

Do you guys have any idea what happened to these sites?
Pikachu adoption
Blag
Clover clique

I haven’t fully checked all the links in my cliques and adoptions page. It seems cliques and adoptions aren’t the hype anymore and even with fanlistings.

Daily, Movies: Movies this week (Comments Off)

First day of hygiene class yesterday, but professor’s Engr. Molina and, as usual, he’s absent. *lol* I went to Mac’s then we went to Uni-Cyber College (I think that’s the name) to get his completion certificates of computer literacy and call center training. That was in Sucat. Then we went to my house to watch movies. I wanted to back-up my hd using my brother’s computer (used to be my dad’s), but hiss friends/groupmates are came over to research. We changed plans and decided to do the usual — watch movies. We watched Everybody Has Secrets and Sunday Seoul.

(Everybody Has Secrets info) I’d give Everybody Has Secrets a 3.5 out of 5. 5, of course, being the highest. I don’t know if Su-Hyeon did any better for being part of the lives of the 3 sisters. Funny how the 2 weren’t as good as I expected them to be compared to their youngest sister who almost told Su-Hyeon the truth that she made out with her ex-boyfriend. Laugh factor isn’t as great as other Korean movies I’ve seen. I’m glad I just got this movie from a friend instead of having to buy the DVD. XD I don’t think it’s worth my money. :P

Other movies we saw recently are Love, So Divine and Dead or Alive. The latter’s a waste of time and money. XP We watched that in SM Manila. *bah* The style’s almost like the vg that it really sucks. Where did the story go? What I only like in this movie are the sexy girls. XDDD Fighting girls in 2-piece aren’t usual, right? XD

A fortune I got during the wedding reception of Tita Pricilla and Eric’s — You are the center of every group’s attention. *lol* Yeah, being the fat girl trying to be or look sexy. ^^;;;
