Daily, Music, Yaoi and Shounen-ai: This just sucks (1 Comment)
I’ve been reading my LJ flist and wanting to comment in some entries, but I never got the heart to because I’m deeply annoyed and shocked with what’s going on with my 2 writers. Last night, I removed the cd-rom and set the dvd-writer to master. It could read everything else fine except for those burned recently. I tested them on my dad’s laptop and they’re working OK, but NOT in my writer. I tried burning and ended up wasting about 7 or 8 BRANDED dvd-r/+r.
Because I don’t want to deal with it anymore, I’m going to have this replaced (hopefully). It’s still under warranty. But I don’t know the conditions for a broken product to get replaced or something. I hope the people at Silicon Valley are nice that they wouldn’t question much and just replace it. I have pending trades and transactions, I was left to using my 4x external HP cd-writer. THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT TOO. I’m so unlucky. Darnit! It couldn’t read any cd at all. Isn’t that a cue that it’s broken!? I popped in a cd and it was taking too long to load. Tried it several times, but to no avail. I restarted computer while the cd was still inside the writer and, there you go, the light had turned red. Meaning, it cannot read the cd. I popped in one of magnetic_rose’s blank cd-r’s and still a red light.

I must apologize for the geeky stuff. I just hate it when something like this happens. Especially for me who’s a download-whore and burning is a must. *shakes head* I’m so tempted to buy a new writer now, but I don’t have the means now. I also spent all my swiss franks already.I met up earlier with Glen, the guitarist of Buddha Vibes early this lunch. He lent me this Mother Earth cd, so I could practice two songs from it — Stardust Bubblegum and Mr. Freedom. I think I’m going to be the youngest in the band. Sweet!!
We have a practice this Friday at some studio near DLSU. *gets nervous* Please DON’T watch any future Buddha Vibes gigs… While I’m with them, that is. I’m gonna suck and I might kill their band. Ah, I was recruited by Buddha Vibes last week. Hehe~ There were other two bands trying to recruit me. One is like into Tori Amos and the other just needs a vocalist so they could start recording. Wow, huh? 
I’m not good and I barely have any confidence in my singing. I stayed at Phoebe’s place last Thursday night. Fun, fun, fun times
Jhan was with her boyfriend who had two friends along too — Gary and Frank. (Wow, I remembered their names!) I was told that Gary is interested in me. o.o No wonder he was like a paparazzi (sp?). We went for a night swim. We had 2 vodka bottles and 6 mucho Red Horse. Then us 3 lovely ladies went food tripping while we watched 50 First Dates, Honey, and Bridget Jones’ Diary 2. We had 2 siopaos and a YUMMY chili sisig with lots of rice. I only took a few pictures (which I’ll be transferring later). The rest are with Jhan since she copied them off Gary’s phone. Speaking of pics, I have a lot to upload. So far, I got a few Tuguegarao pics ready. There are still some to scan and upload from the digicam.Local yaoi fans shouldn’t have missed the yaoi-con last Saturday!
It was a BLAST! Most of the girls seem more open this time compared to last year’s, so I guess this year’s con is better. The venue was smaller though, but enough for the # of people who came.

Daily: Dvd-writer problem! (Comments Off)
HELP!!!
All of sudden, my dvd-writer can’t burn to dvd+r discs. I found out after trying to burn in two dvd+r’s. Both are unreadable. But before I burned to those discs, I burned some files on a dvd-r. It was a successful burn, but my writer couldn’t read it. My dad tried the dvd in his dvd-reader and he said it’s fine. I upgraded the firmware and it got fine for a while. Now, even after successful burns, some are unreadable!
FUDGE!
The dvd-write speed is supposed to be 12x, but the max now is 4x.
I’m hoping the problem is caused by one of these (or maybe all):
1. OS –> Should I switch to WinXP? But this was working fine before.
2. CD-rom conflict –> My cd-rom got fucked up. It’s probably too old and needs replacement. I haven’t removed it yet though I tried removing it from the control panel.
CD-writing is working fine though. The hardware is still under warranty, but I’m not taking this thing off yet unless it really needs major fixing.
My parents are leaving next week! If I remove this, no one will plug it for me. ;___;
